On November 8, 2014, Ken McLarty of Tenacious Training and Events, will bring the Oregon Cyclocross State Championships to his yearly Cyclocross event at the Pedalers at the Poor Farm course located at Edgefield McMenamins in Troutdale, just minutes away from the Portland metro area. The event will be the regional competition for cyclocross athletes announcing the top cyclocross competitors for the state. Ken will be working closely with McMenamins to develop an exciting, challenging and unique course as well as provide complete hospitable experience for all guests and participants.
To create a dynamic event that celebrates all of the personality and fun of cylcocross with the prestige and athletic challenge of a championship. To make the championship the most important cyclocross event in Oregon. To develop such a challenging and memorable course that any competitor will have bragging rights that they completed it.
The State Cyclocross Championships have been building in strength over the past several years. In 2009 and 2010 the Championship was held in Bend, Oregon; 2011-2012 at Camp Harlow in Eugene, Oregon. For 2013 and 2014 the event will be held at Pedalers of the Poor Farm course at Edgefield McMenamins in Troutdale. The championship will feature competition for junior, elite men, and women groups. The exciting venue change for the championship means a lot to both the participants, and to the sponsors as this location means access to world class recreation, craft brewery, world renowned restaurants and bars, entertainment and shopping
